About this Ministry
Tel-A-Care Ministry was originally formed in 1989 to minister to the lonely and hurting, our main focus being prisons and nursing homes. Operating only by word-of-mouth, in just a short time we compiled a list of nearly 1,000 names of patients or inmates who received no mail or correspondence and were basically alone. We reached out to them through a monthly newsletter and by sending them a card on their birthday or other special occasion. Our goal was simple, and was conveyed in our slogan, "Telling the Good News, God really does care about you." We ministered for several years, but changes in mailing regulations, especially for inmates who formed the bulk of our mailing list, caused us to cease our outreach and to shift our focus elsewhere.
Still having the desire to minister and to reach out to others, in the year 1999, this web site was launched. Like our previous outreach, it's goal was, and still remains, simple: to reach out to the lost and hurting, and to provide them bread in their wilderness. Jesus loves you, He knows what you are going through, He understand your feelings, and He cares. Peter's first epistle gives you this special promise, "Cast all of your care upon Jesus, for He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)
Freely I have received; now freely I give
In Isaiah 55:1, the Lord pleads with all who are thirsty to come to the waters, without price, without money. It echoes Jesus' call, "Whosoever will, come and take the water of life freely." Freely I have received so much from the Lord, and now freely I give. (Matthew 10:8). Thank you for visiting this site. I pray that as a result of your visit, you have drawn closer to our Lord, and that you have been strengthened and encouraged in the faith. And ultimately, that you have been reassured that God knows about, and understands, your trials.
May the Lord richly bless you and meet your every need.
